Using Enterprise Architecture for forecast and implementation of Merges and Acquisitions (M&A) Posted: 29 May 2009 04:20 AM PDT After explaining how to use enterprise architecture for IT long term planning and IT cost reduction this post is dedicated to enterprise architecture for merge and acquisitions (M&A). In this post I'll try to share with you my experience with how to use EA to forecast M&A efforts from IT point of view and after a decision has been taken, how to use EA to implement M&A (From IT point of view).

Part 6: Enterprise BPM Framework; BPM within SAP projects Posted: 29 May 2009 03:16 AM PDT Many SAP project managers are struggling with the question whether they should integrate BPM within their SAP projects. For them the ROI of BPM for their project is not obvious. The Enterprise BPM framework, as introduced in my previous blogs, provides an overview of the utilization of BPM within SAP projects. The decision whether BPM should be incorporated within the SAP projects should also be taken by the stakeholders who are responsible for the TCO of the SAP environment.

IFRS -- A big impact for Retailers? -- Part 1 Posted: 28 May 2009 01:23 PM PDT The emergence of IFRS, a global accounting standard, and the proposed roadmap by SEC for its adoption in USA has lent a sense of urgency to understand the impacts within retail businesses. Retailers who use the traditional Retail Method of Accounting (RIM) for inventory valuation will be impacted. This impact will also be felt by those using the Enhances Retail Method of Accounting (ERMA). Read how the SAP Retail solution offers the way out. This is the first part (of a multipart blog) that defines the issue.

"Driven to Perform" - Unifying Performance, Risk, and Compliance via the GPS metaphor Posted: 28 May 2009 12:44 PM PDT Modern performance management does the same thing as a GPS system by helping companies define direction in a precise way, by providing the means to communicate and propagate a detailed understanding of the way forward, by looking ahead to what the likely outcomes are with predictive models, by looking into what is happening in the business network, and by expanding and deepening awareness of the direction of the employees, partners, and key stakeholders.
