It was supposed to be an awfully difficult year, and it was in some ways, but for the SAP communities and our members it was (surprisingly) positive. We achieved a lot together, made big strides of forward progress, delivered significant value and benefits to each other, and received noteworthy recognition for our achievements. Handling zip file entries with special characters and CP437 encoding

This blog is about how to deal with zip files which contain files with special characters or umlauts e.g. German umlauts. With the classes in java.util.zip you can read / create zip files. When you try to read zip files which contain files with special characters you get an IllegalArgumentException (depending on the file encoding) and the file processing is interrupted.
