Posted: 30 Mar 2010 06:55 PM PDT Last year, after a big delay, Craig Cmehil pulled an all-nighter, demonstrating his technical prowess and raising awareness (and funds) for Doctors Without Borders (MSF). This year, he's doing it again, and I'm participating with my second annual ASUG simulcast of the 24 Hour-Friday Morning Report show, on April 9th and 10th, 2010.

Creating and Managing Local Update Sites for SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.2 Posted: 30 Mar 2010 11:46 AM PDT Since SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (NWDS) 7.1 was released for SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment (CE) 7.1, developers installed and updated their NWDS via update sites. The update sites are available via the Service MarketPlace, but it is recommended to mirror these as local update sites, so that developers could pull down NWDS installs off the local network which is faster and more efficent. The process for creating and maintaining local updates sites was the same for CE 7.1 and CE 7.1.1, but for CE 7.2 this process has changed quite a bit - this blog will explain the new way of creating and maintaining local updates sites for NWDS 7.2.

Posted: 30 Mar 2010 08:34 AM PDT SAP Business Objects Planning & Consolidation, version for Netweaver, transports operate by transferring metadata about the existing source BPC configuration to a target system. Upon successful import into the target system, the metadata describing the new (or changed) BPC objects described in the transport is used to recreate/change BPC objects in the target system. BW users that wish to connect to these objects should be aware of which objects will retain their original (source system) technical name, and which should not be counted upon to remain static.
