SAP BW: Plausibility Check in Transformations and Conversion Routines Posted: 07 May 2010 05:32 AM PDT You cannot use a Transformation to carry out a Plausibility Check of incoming values. For performance reasons, this check was relocated to the DataSource. Hence, the check in the DataSource does not have a connection to the Error Handling features. As a result, if there are invalid field values, the whole request is not loaded. This blog refers to SAP Note #1460342.
Customizing of Material Type and MM Inconsistency Prevention Posted: 07 May 2010 05:02 AM PDT You probably know via the customizing transaction OMS2, you could change the quantity/value updating flag for the material type. Doing this without awareness of the possible consequence will cause stock inconsistency. Now a warning message (MM091) is introduced by note 1396442 which explains the risks of changing the quantity/value flag.

BW Customer Profile: Northern Kentucky University Posted: 06 May 2010 02:39 PM PDT This posting contains a Higher Education customer profile about the BW implementation at Northern Kentucky University (NKU). The profile gives basic information about NKU, their systems, and their BW project. It also dives deeper into the BW Project and describes what they have implemented, how/when/why they implemented it, who uses it, what challenges they have had, what benefits have resulted, and screenshot examples of their BW queries.

Connecting People Finder to SAP People Posted: 06 May 2010 01:10 PM PDT People Finder is yet another SAP iPhone app released available in the Apple iTunes store. It connects to the Social Network Analyzer Prototype to visualize information on people and relationships. For this blog I had the People Finder app connected to our internal SNA prototype implementation called "SAP People".

6 May 2010 Postal Bulletin - summer sale Posted: 06 May 2010 08:34 AM PDT This postal bulletin has just one item with a DMM revision, and that is to update 709.2, the Standard Mail volume incentive program that ended 30 September 2009, with new standards for a 2010 Standard Mail incentive program. Oh, and Dog Bite Prevention Week is coming up May 16-22, wouldn't want to miss that like I missed Star Wars day ("May the 4th be with you!" <groan>). Regarding my entry from 22 Apr about the L009 changes, we don't have any update yet on how that "disentangling" is coming along to deal with the bundles and sacks that now seem to be out of the "drop ship derby." Especially if you drop ship auto flats to ASFs (or do other mailing that uses L009), expect to see some reduction in the amount of mail that will be eligible for destination prices once you start using the directories that include those changes (they're in our May directories). Four weeks from now will be the first PB in an even-numbered month, so watch for more labeling list updates coming then.
