Posted: 07 Feb 2011 02:28 AM PST I saw an interesting advertising series launched to promote mobile number portability. This is a feature available with all service providers in India from 20th Jan 2011, but being the first ones to advertise this makes the campaign different. An advertisement of barely 15 -- 20 seconds requires a huge effort as part of the campaign management. Let us look further into what is a campaign how exactly are marketing campaigns designed?
Model Driven Architecture - a story from Real Life Posted: 07 Feb 2011 01:43 AM PST Model Driven Architecture (MDA) is the best method to implement an IT-wide “Think first, then code”. Actually, this is not new and a mantra that reappears every 10 years. In the 70’s, MDA first appeared with mainframes, in the 80’s, MDA was reborn with relational databases (James Martin and Associates), in the nineties with IBM Rational and in 2000 it found its ways with Java, .NET and eclipse. And every time it appears on the radar screen of IT project leads, it failed and vanished for the next decade.

Be careful with that traffic light (OMG its a dashboard) Posted: 06 Feb 2011 11:30 PM PST Dashboards and powerpoints are colorful impressions. But as usual, hype always soars before the descend into the valley of disillusionment. When I see all the iPads with their dashboards, their touchy screens with fingerprints and colored like kids books, a certain feeling of skepticism starts catching up on me.

The Road to BI 4.x: SAP BusinessObjects Analysis: No "Analysis Paralysis" Here Posted: 06 Feb 2011 11:40 AM PST On January 20th, Alexander Peter, SAP, and Ian McAlpine, SAP provided a great ASUG webcast on SAP BusinessObjects Analysis Roadmap covering Analysis, BEx, Web Intelligence and Explorer. They discussed current state, BI 4.0, and future state (BI 4.x). The general disclaimer that statements are subject to change - some changes since TechED.
